With the progress of science and technology, the application of electric tracing tape in the field of pipeline insulation is more and more extensive. Electric heat tracing can not only effectively prevent pipelines from freezing, but also improve the service life of pipelines and reduce energy consumption. However, for many users, how to correctly install the electric tracing belt is still a difficult problem. In this paper, the seven-step installation method of electric tracing belt will be introduced in detail to help users easily complete the installation of electric tracing belt.
I. Preparations
Before installing the electric tracing belt, a series of preparatory work is needed. First of all, it is necessary to determine the installation position of the electric tracing belt to ensure that it covers the pipeline or equipment that needs heating. Secondly, it is necessary to check the appearance of the electric tracing belt to ensure that there is no obvious damage or defect. Finally, it is necessary to prepare all kinds of tools and materials needed to install the electric heat tracing tape, such as insulating tape, fixing clips, brackets, etc.
Second, clean the pipeline
Before installing the electric tracing belt, the pipeline needs to be cleaned. Wipe the surface of the pipeline with a cleaning cloth or alcohol to ensure that it is free of stains and moisture. This step can effectively improve the fit between the electric tracing belt and the pipeline, and ensure that the electric tracing belt can radiate heat evenly.
Third, laying the electric tracing belt
Attach the electric tracing tape to the surface of the pipeline to ensure that the electric tracing tape is closely attached to the pipeline without bubbles or wrinkles. If the pipeline is long, it can be connected by multi-section electric tracing. When laying the electric tracing belt, attention should be paid to avoid the distortion and discount of the electric tracing belt, so as not to affect its normal work.
4. Fixed electric tracing belt
Use special fixing clips or adhesive tapes to fix the electric tracing tape on the pipeline to ensure that the electric tracing tape will not slide or twist. When fixing the electric tracing belt, attention should be paid to avoid damaging the insulation layer of the electric tracing belt to avoid short circuit or leakage accident.
V. Connecting the electric tracing belt
Prepare special connection boxes, cables, insulating tapes and other connection materials. A certain length of outer sheath is peeled off at both ends of the electric heat tracing belt to expose the conductive material inside. Put the conductive materials of two sections of electric tracing belts into the connection boxes respectively, and use special connectors to fix and connect them. Seal the connection box with insulating tape to ensure that the connection is waterproof and dustproof.
Six, power-on test
Check whether the electric tracing belt is firmly installed, and there is no distortion or discount. Electrify the electric tracing belt, and observe whether the electric tracing belt is heating normally, and there is no short circuit, open circuit and other phenomena. Use a thermometer to measure the surface temperature of the pipeline to ensure that the temperature meets the requirements.
Seven, waterproof test
Spray water on the sealing part of the connection box, and observe whether the electric tracing belt works normally, and there is no short circuit, electric leakage and other phenomena. This step can effectively test the waterproof performance of the electric tracing belt and ensure that it can work normally in a humid environment.
VIII. Conclusion
Through the above seven steps, users can easily complete the installation of electric tracing belt. Electric heat tracing can not only effectively prevent pipelines from freezing, but also improve the service life of pipelines and reduce energy consumption. In addition, the electric heat tracing tape also has good wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and can maintain stable performance in the long-term use process. Therefore, as a common thermal insulation method, electric heat tracing is widely used in pipeline thermal insulation. It is hoped that the introduction of this article can help users to better understand the installation method of electric tracing tape and easily complete the installation of electric tracing tape.
